A trip to the spa can be the most relaxing thing hard working girls like us need, but the long lists of treatments can stress us out!  Waxing, microdermabrasion, facials, oils fill the menu.  What are the most effective for us individually, especially if we have dry, oily, or even sensitive skin.  Not to fear ladies, we at Sarah Scoop have given you a little guide to help you along so you can fully indulge on your spa day! Check out this list to find the best treatments for your skin.

Oily Skin

Do you find yourself applying more and more powder as the day goes on to stop shine on your face?  Well, you might have oily skin, but don’t worry!  Millions of women deal with excess oil every day.  When your pick up the treatment menu, look for facials that include a chemical exfolient.  It will not only take off older skin, but will dig deep to cleanse oil from your pores.  Also ask your beauty technician to extract dirt and deep down grime from your pores to give your skin a soft new beginning.

Dry Skin

On the total opposite side of the spectrum, some of us experience excessively dry skin, especially during this time of year.  It seems like we can never put on enough lotion!  When you are choosing your facial, look for gentle exfoliation to wipe away those dry flakes and moisturizing facial masks.  These will give you the necessary amount of water and oil your skin needs to stay quenched!  Also, don’t be afraid to ask your esthetician what her favorite moisturizers are.

Combination Skin

Some of us just have unpredictable days as well.  Oily or dry?  Maybe some of both here and there.  For example, our cheeks may be excessively dry, but our forehead and nose shine like the light of day!  Your go to facial should have microdermabrasion exfoliants that will balance these two issues, renewing your skin cells, and making you look fresh and clean.  Like with those who have oily skin, don’t be afraid to ask for extractionsin your less than dry places.

Sensitive Skin

Although most women can take on any treatment at the spa, some break out in rashes, feel burning, or just feel uncomfortable when certain lotions or oils touch their skin.  If you have this issue, look for all natural facials and ask what treatment would be best for your condition.  Be sure to always let your esthetician know you have sensitive skin, and if you ever feel burning, let her know immediately.  Most of the time, spas should have a list of treatments for sensitive skin types, if not ask for lighter treatments.
